Our Story

Food has always been at the heart of David's story

My name is David, and food has always been at the heart of my story. I grew up surrounded by the rich, soulful flavors of homemade Mexican cuisine, prepared with love by my parents, grandparents, tias, tios, and extended family. Some of my most cherished memories are of large family gatherings filled with laughter, music, and tables overflowing with traditional dishes passed down through generations. Those vibrant potlucks weren't just meals - they were celebrations of culture, connection, and tradition. It was in those kitchens and around those crowded tables that my passion for cooking first took root and grew into what it is today.

Tamales.

Holiday tables once overflowed with tamales, each family bringing their own special batch. The laughter, the music, the steam rising from warm pots that love and tradition is what inspires these flavorful tamales.

Trips to Baja California with my father and siblings eating shrimp and fish tacos and fresh shrimp cocktail straight from the Pacific are what inspired me to bring these coastal flavors to life in my own dishes.

Caldos.

Caldo de pollo and caldo de res are more than soups to me, they're memories of my mother's kitchen in every season. Whether during cold winters or even hot summers, those flavors were my comfort when I was sick and the warmth that always brought me back to life.
